Today, I met the man I am going to marry.
His skin is rhum amber with flecks of gold,
Though glistering green eyes foster mine blurry,
His dark-haired mane lingers them to hold.

Today, I met the man I am going to marry.
Though we neither greeted nor parted with a word,
Our breaths of unconscious silence were contrary
To the transcending pull of a fixated love unheard.

Today, I met the man I am going to marry.
Though he lives on a distant island in humid air,
Sundered by his banana fields and my lack of clarity,
I tucked my heart into his eyes and le coeur de sa terre.

Aujourd'hui, j'ai recontre l'homme qui je me marierai avec.
