Author's Note: I wrote this to my SOUL band, the one that has kept me complete and whole the past year. This is to you, U2. I'll love you forever.

I write this for you.

You are my soul, my life. You are my smiles, my tears. Your faces make me light up, your words take my breath away.

Oh, look how I shake as I type this.

You are everything to me.

I hope you are reading this . . . you are my every inspiration. I would probably not be alive if it weren't for your music. It sends chills up my spine, you do the most incredible things I have ever seen. Do you mind if I sob while I write this?

I'm sorry, I'm not used to expressing my feelings to my other half.

Others tell me not to care, not to be so obsessed. It's too bad I've fallen in love with you. The drums keep my heart beating, your bass lifts my hands into the air, you guitar keeps my feet dancing, your voice keeps me singing.

You are me.

I am you.

I'm still burning down love.

I don't know if I could cry anymore tears to show you how much I understand.

I understand everything now.

Dear the Band That Has Changed My Life, thank you for helping me become a better person, for opening my eyes. You've taught me to love, you've taught me to cry. You've shown me the world, you've given me a voice worth sharing. You are my drug, I can't live without you!

You will always live on, I'll never let the world forget you.

Thank you for giving me MUSIC!!

I want to tell you everything! I want to discuss everything! Do you know how much my writing has been impacted because of your- your- your amazing ability to keep me whole?

Writing is all I can do.

It's all I can do.

It's all I can do to thank you for helping me.

I hope you're reading this.

Your loving and sincerely grateful fan forever (Until the end of the world...),

Author's Note: This was inspired by U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name" (whose lyrics were put in the article) and their performance at the 2002 Superbowl where they performed that very song. To view their incredible performance which brought me to tears you can go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gq08ouOwiqQ&feature=related

I have been told many times not to convince myself that this band has created who I am, but what they have done to me is so complex, I could never describe it. Perhaps if you listen to their music you can understand too.

"My heroes are the ones who survived doing it wrong, who made mistakes, but recovered from them." -Bono
