Pick Up Being Single

Hey everyone! Allstar05 here!

I read an article in the Times for January 10th and there was an article that Blink87 wrote, On How We Feel & How We Try. He said that when he asked out a girl he used the line "I was trying to find the prettiest girl in Whyville and I think I found her--you." I am sorry but I think it's a bit tacky. Don't you think?

I mean... in a way it's sorta sweet... but it's totally obvious that you are trying to pick her up. Some girls, like me, notice things like that and usually say "no". No offense or anything but that line "Whomps!" And besides, being single on Whyville is not that bad. I mean, sometimes I ask a guy or two out but I am not that desperate.

I interviewed some girls who think that pick up lines like that are a lil tacky and that it is not that bad to be single.

First I interviewed swimma.

Me: Hello. Would you like to do an interview?
swimma: sure!
Me: Okay, great! In the January 10th Whyville Times, there was an article about this one guy asking this girl out, saying," I was searching for the most beautiful girl in Whyville. I think I found her: you." I was wondering if you think pick up lines like that were kinda tacky.
swimma: Yes, I think they are.
Me: May I ask why?
swimma: Because you can tell that they are trying to pick you up and I think that they seem to be jerks cuz they are trying to act all sweet and everything but when you start dating them they cheat on you and they can be total jerks..
Me: OK! Thank you. But there is one more question that I need to ask you.
swimma: Sure... go ahead....
Me: Are you single, and if you are tell me if you are happy being single.
swimma: Yes, I am. I don't want a b/f cuz I think that Internet b/fs are stupid. And they can be useless cuz you don't really know what they look like and you don't really know who they are.
Me: Okay, thank you.
swimma: No prob.

Next I interviewed Dinger10.

Me: Hi, would you like to do an interview?
Dinger10: All right.
Me: In the January 10th Whyville Times, there was an article about this one guy asking this girl out, saying," I was searching for the most beautiful girl in Whyville. I think I found her: you." I was wondering if you think pick up lines like that were kinda tacky.
Dinger10: Yes, I think they are tacky and I think they are rude because you aren't asking a girl out properly, even if you sound really nice and sweet.
Me: Thanks.
Dinger10: No prob.
Me: But I have to ask you one more question.
Dinger10: Okay, go ahead.
Me: I was wondering if you are single and I was wondering if you are happy being single?
Dinger10: Yes. Yes I am, because there is no one bossing me around and breaking my heart.
Me: Okay, thanks a bunch.
Dinger10: You are sooo welcome
Me: Ha ha!
Dinger10: Bye.

Well, I hope you liked my article and that I made a point for all you guyz out there.

Hope to see ya all over.
