Everyone's heard of the Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana, the Clique Girlz, those people, right? Well, at least most of you have. Tired of the same teeny-bop, bubble-gum, give-everyone-a-hug-because-we're-in-unicorn-land-where-nothing-ever-goes-wrong kind of music? Me too. But, I found a brand new artist that I absolutely adore. Sure, she's the same age as these other groups, but she's so much more mature. Who is she? Jordan McCoy.

Jordan was born Septemeber 17th, 1991, in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. She is 17 years old. Jordan started to sing when she was just three years old. When she was only 11, she finally convinced her mom to take her to the American Juniors competition, but she did not make it to the final five. After American Juniors, Jordan moved to Los Angeles, California, and started working on her musical career and began to audition for movies and TV shows. While there, the head of her label said that Diddy was in town and wanted to hear her sing. She sang for him, and he signed her to his record label, Bad Boy Records. Jordan is part of a revival group of the group Dream.

Jordan's music genre is Pop/Rock/R&B. One of her songs, "Rock Star" was featured on an episode of "The Hills" (for all you fans of "The Hills"!)

Jordan puts new videos up every Tuesday on her official YouTube channel, JordanMcCoyTV. Just go to http://www.youtube.com/jordanmccoytv to see her singing!

My personal favorite song of hers is "Just Watch Me", because it inspired me to do whatever I want to do, and to just be me. Here are the lyrics:

Don't tell me that I'm out of line . . or
That I'm shooting way too high
Don't know any other way for me to play it
I gotta give it everything . . . so
Call it just a crazy dream
But I can feel it getting closer every day and

I'm not afraid of working hard and there'll never be a guarantee
But I believe that I can be anything I really want to be

[Chorus:]
Just watch me, I'll do it
Not matter what they say, I'll prove it
Just watch me, I'm flying
And no one's ever gonna clip my wings
I'll beat the odds if I know me, and if you disagree
Just watch me, just watch me, can't stop me

People say you'll crash and burn . . . well
That's the way I've got to learn
But I know it's only gonna make me stronger
Doesn't matter what it takes . . . cause
I'm not gonna run or break
Every thing in me is saying I belong here

I believe that I can give just a little bit of something more
They can try to shut me out but I'll break down that door

[Chorus:]
I can't live in a box
I'll show ?em what I got
It's never my way to play it too safe
You see I've got big plans I've gotta take the chance
I'll get there if I can

I'm not afraid of working hard
And there'll never be a guarantee but
But I believe that I can be anything I want to be

Yes, Jordan McCoy is on iTunes!

Peace out,
Listen to her,
Go sniff cheese,
Allie
