A few weeks ago I received a y-mail from allyally6, the original author of the "International" series. She was having difficulties finding time to write the articles and asked me if I could continue the series for her! Obviously I accepted so here I am writing about Peru. Of course these articles won't be as good as when the original author was writing them, but I'll try my best to make you happy. If you have any suggestions I would LOVE to hear about them in the BBS, so no further delay, let's get into the article!

Located in South America, Peru is filled with interesting culture. Mysterious ruins to food, Peru has it all!

One really amazing place in Peru that was discovered in the early 1900's is Machu Picchu, meaning "Old Peak" in the Quechua language.

Machu Picchu was a city built by the Inca. It was apparently a sacred place before the Inca turned it into a city. It has been preserved amazingly, and it's beauty astonishes people who view it. The ruins of Machu Picchu show of palaces, bath houses, temples and homes carved from gray granite.

This amazing cultural ruin is situated on top of a mountain. Many legends come from Machu Picchu, for example, when a sensitive person sets their forehead onto the Intihuatana stone, they are able to see into the spirit world.

Of course many stories and legends come from Machu Picchu, because let's face it . . . it's mysterious and beautiful.

The picture above is of Machu Picchu.

Food

There are so many types of food in Peru, it was hard to pick one, but in the end I decided on Baked Banana's Stuffed With Chocolate, Nice name right? Well here's how you make it.

Ingredients:

-6 unpeeled banana's
-7oz (200g) of milk chocolate, in pieces
-1 1/2 cups of whipped cream

Preparation:

-Lengthwise, make a deep cut up the unpeeled banana's, but don't go all the way, only until the banana slightly opens.
-Divide the chocolate into 6 portions and stuff each banana.
-Individually wrap the bananas with aluminum foil.
-Put the bananas on a hot grill/ oven, cook for 10 min. or until the chocolate melts.
-Take the bananas out of the oven or off the grill, and serve with whipped cream!

This recipe is good for six servings.

Well that's all for this week and don't forget to give me your opinions of improvement in the BBS, and thank you to allyally6 for creating this wonderful series!
