This coasting blue and stretching white,
its pelagic vastness and heavenly brightness,
triggering my taken eyes alight--
and I then realize that I cannot fight this.

It reminds me that my time here is finite,
and it puts me in my place,
but it reminds me of the serpentine elements
which are hidden in this untold space.

They wield the powers to restore or grime,
and if you make friends with the right ones
they can transcend your existence for all time,
and that's love.

They say that in the end fireworks don't matter,
they say that in the end fireworks fade,
but I say it don't matter what they say
'cause true love for comfort ain't a fair trade.

So let's preserve ourselves with love
once we pursue the chase,
and if we don't feel it enough,
then perhaps we should ease our haste.

They tell me, "in the end fireworks don't matter,"
they tell me, "in the end fireworks fade,"
but I say it don't matter what they say
'cause (in the end) true love should never fade.
