All these days I feel alone, like Jeremiah.
Might as well converse with stone, Jeremiah.
I can't take this anymore, people deafened by the score.
Your laments and mine are coarse.

Why must prophets all atone
as they walk through streets of bones?
They did their best with what they had.
Is there a god, and is He mad?
Oh, is there a god, and is He mad?

Everytime I pray I hurt, like Jeremiah.
Am I always to be cursed, like Jeremiah?
I can't keep a hold on hope, it's escaping from its rope.
Chances are we're all alone.

Why has all my luck turned wrong
or have I deserved this all along?
I swear I did the best I could with what I had.
Is there a god, and is He mad?
Oh, is there a god and is He mad?

Every lesson lingers long, in my thoughts and
I won't forget the single song, when it leaves me.
I still think there is a chance for love to come and take me back.
I don't need Him for that.

I will turn my luck around.
I know I deserve someone.
I swear I'll do the best I can with what I'll have.
I swear I'll do the best I can.
I swear I'll do the best I can.
