I'm walking towards my seat and on the ground I see a snapped butterfly Silly Band. Any public place I go I'm guaranteed to see at least one of these odd things on a wrist. What makes them so popular? Maybe it's the creative shape they make when you remove them from your arm. Who knows, but they are selling like nobody's business.

You can see them around school, at the supermarket, even at places like the skating rink and bowling alley! People buy many Silly Bandz for their children, as birthday presents, or even just as a nice little gift for your friends. Now why on Earth would you buy that many? Maybe these pictures taken of them will answer that question.

I personally only have only one Silly Band that my friend gave me. She says it's a moon, yet my other friends say it looks like a sideways canoe. My best friend always says when I wear it, "Hey, you're wearing the canoe!" Silly Bandz have some disadvantages if you really think about it, though!

GOOD: You can flaunt them around and annoy your friends with the popping noise rubber makes.
BAD: They are simple to snap.
GOOD: You can buy a band that expresses you.
BAD: They're hard to find.
GOOD: You get a lot for a low price.
BAD: They are easy to lose.
GOOD: Each one is colorful and unique.
BAD: You can't stretch them like regular rubber bands.

However, people must look over the bad parts, since even our fellow Whyvillians are excited about these bands. If you don't believe me, just check out some of the threads in Beauty & Fashion General. Who knows, maybe designers in Akbar's will start making arms with Silly Bandz on them. If the Silly Bandz become popular enough maybe even City Hall will make a face part, like they've done with Kidz Bop! There's no telling how popular Silly Bandz will get online and in the real world.
