I spent today wandering the streets,
wondering if there was someone better for me.
Nothing was there; darkness and dim.
For all that I care, you're just shadows and skin and

you and me, she and him
we could never be.
You and me, she and him
we could never be.

Forgetting myself, I came to the place
where we made a vow that we would never forget.
Blood on the rocks; no room to breathe.
We thought it love when the water started to seethe, but

you and me, she and him
we could never be.
You and me, she and him
we could never be.

I thought I was something special, you thought you were beautiful
and no one ever seemed to call us out.
You knew I was self-absorbed and I knew you were far from gorgeous.
We never should have gotten started, never should have even tried 'cause

you and me, she and him
we could never be.
You and me, she and him
we could never be.
