Author's Note: I'm back! Well, the story about the Martian girl I told you about in the BBS has been postponed until further notice. So here's some odd series (like the rest of my stories).

I couldn't breathe. Something held me beneath the water. I thrashed within my own body, sucking in water in my panic. I couldn't move. I opened my mouth to scream and the water flew down my throat. A sharp flash of pain suddenly shot through my chest. The water I saw was red . . . it hurt. I wanted to die. I was trapped within myself . . .

Usually, I woke up at this point of the dream. Screaming. I never remembered it was a dream, that nothing was killing me. Since the second week of this nightmare, my parents stopped coming to check on me.

So I would go back to sleep. The nightmare would be gone for the rest of that night.

"Sarah, I think it's time to see a doctor."

I looked up at her, blinking twice. My mother. She had been a pretty woman her whole life. At 40 years old, she looked like a dazzling 21 year old. My older sister looked like her before she vanished. "Why?" I asked bleakly. "It's been two months since these nightmares started, and they've been relentless," she said softly. "It's one nightmare. Not a series of them. They mean nothing, Mother," I hissed angrily. She gave me this speech every morning. I wasn't sick. She looked at me cautiously. "I'm not a mental case, Mother. Stop looking at me like that!" I yelled. It continued. She turned away. My father was shooting worried glances my way. "I'm leaving for school early. Since you two think I'm so crazy," I muttered under my breath. "Goodbye, Sarah," Mother murmured softly. "Bye," I shot back coldly.

I put the keys in the ignition and floored it. I was used to driving like this, as I'd never been caught in my life. Some fire within me burned and edged me to stupidity and the love of danger. I would walk alone in the woods at night and just do everything wrong.

A girl stood in the street. A beautiful girl. A girl who looked just like Emma. She was soaked. Completely soaked. She looked like a blonde drowned prize rat. With blood streaming down her body from a single spot in her chest.

I slammed on the brakes and I stared at her. She reached an arm out towards me. "Sarah . . ." she croaked. Water poured out of her mouth. I screamed. I felt the air tearing at my throat as I did so. One long, terrified, agonized scream.

I opened my eyes. Hands were around my shoulders. I screamed again. "Sarah! Sarah!" Mother's voice suddenly pulled me back. "You're going to a doctor. Enough is enough," she said. With that tone of voice, I couldn't fight her.
