I can't put this color on paper
Spun gold, satisfaction smudged across the sky
And doesn't it just work out perfectly
that you'd rather watch the sun set than rise

Still beautiful, but changed
It's now painted more of a peachy smile
And I've been living in fast forward
so I'll sit and swing and just think for a while

You're happy without me.
I didn't think this would happen
We could've put the daylight to shame.
Could've mirrored the beauty of this setting sun
but now "could've" just hurts, and she's to blame.

And for some reason
Now
I'm laughing.

Behind the grey clouds, it's faded
But the smile still breaks my pale face
You've decided to move on blindly
so I'll just grin and move along with grace
