There, beneath the Caribbean rays,
I shed a layer of unease,
and my skin turned an unlikely shade
that suited the sand and the seas.

Take me back to that place
where it all made sense again,
that place
where I suddenly felt akin.

And although now I know
that our love was just mistaken,
it's the easy Antilles breeze and flow
that I am forever taken.

So take me back to that place
where it all made sense again,
that place
where I suddenly felt akin.

And if chance has a say
that I might see him again,
I just hope it'll bring me peace
to wish you well, my friend.

I bid you farewell, my friend.

Now take me back to that place
where it all made sense again,
that place
where I suddenly felt akin.

One day, I'll fly to your embrace
of sun and sand,
your soft embrace
of sun and sand.
