Finally!

We ran
Across the street in the rain
Dance with the lightning and thunder above
Your new shirt smelled of the poison cologne
it's been the constant of our covert love.
We ran.

I understand, you're taken now
And you call her your princess when I'm not there
But we're together for once, alone right now
You remind me and run your fingers through my hair

Then we ran
To the front of the stadium
Sight and sound unhindered with our brand new eyes
You hold my hand in your pocket and sway
to the music and love that doesn't die.
Then we ran.

He tells me to take you away from her
I refuse to cause you the same pain as her.
I know you don't want to let go of her

Yet I take your hand and run.

We kick off our shoes and inhibitions
Sprint to the fountains and jump in without thought
Nashville, midnight, soaked with water and laughs
my camera doesn't capture the way your eyes shine.

((i love you, best friend.))
