Rephrasing Your Thoughts

Hi everyone, this is babyandie. I know I'm one of the people that are AGAINST complaining, but there's this thing that really bothers me. You know how sometimes if you say a bad word they say TRY REPRAHSING YOUR THOUGHT? Well, I was just at the Spin Speak and I meant to say KK but I mis-typed and instead I said KKK, and they told me to rephrase my thought! Grr how is that bad??

Lots of other times when I said words like ASHLEY (which is a name!! A NAME, I tell ya!) and other things and they say TRY REPHRASING YOUR THOUGHT, how unfair is that? I cant even say hi to my friends now?

I think City Hall should do something about this because I agree with it when you're actually saying something bad, but when you're not, it's really annoying!!

Sorry to be complaining... Whyville is still the coziest warmest most fun town on the internet with really nice people!

Okay, this is BabyAndie signing off... goin... goin... *click*

Note from City Hall: I have to agree with you that this can be really annoying. But I'll try to tell you why the filter does this.

It's because people get so creative with their swears. They keep trying to spell bad words differently, and so we have to keep making our filter catch more and more words. And what happens when you try to make a computer program more sensitive? It also becomes OVER-sensitive and sees things that aren't really there.

It's kind of like stressing a person out so much that they become totally paranoid.

So, it's frustrating, but please bear with us. We're always working on improving the filter -- adding and subtracting and just plain fine tuning.
