In the dark, I see the light
That's coming from the window
And when I pirouette to it
It falls upon my face

My eyes close as I'm absorbed
In sheer serenity
And my feet move and twist

I'm not in control
My body has taken over
And I'm doing endless fouettes
I turn, and turn, and turn.
Spinning in a pink twister

The pink ribbons on my shoes
And my swirling tutu
Make me feel as if I can spin forever

Finally I must leave
But I do not wish to leave
Dancing on my toes
Makes me feel like I should stay
For eternity
