Daring eyes shift upon the tower
Blossoming roses curve upward
Fear of death is lost
As our young prince ventures forward

He places a hand against the stone
He knows his plan is farfetched
He knows that there is no hope
But he goes on and on to save the princess

She waits in her guarded tower
A saddening sight
As all hope is lost, dreams all sour
She feels she has lost the wretched fight

Back below the cold stone
With his curly, blond hair
He grips the mineral sturdily
Himself, a knight who's just and fair

If only the prince reached the top
If only he had grasped her waist
If only he had saved the girl
If only he won the challenge that he faced

If only, if only he had won
If only she didn't willow in the tower
If only, if only he had won
They would have grasped sweet, sweet power

And so, our dear story ends
With a prince that didn't win
In the end he reached the girl
Too bad she wasn't interested
