YBird Bites Back

Hey! Ybird here, discussing all things Why. But today, I'm focusing on safety in Whyville.

We all know there are loads of great safety features in Whyville. Some of you may have used them. However, maybe they aren't good enough. There are some things that Warn, Silence and Vaporize just can't handle. These are things that only the responsible Whyvillian can deal with, and I'm talking about password stealing. This is big crime, bigtime.

Don't get me wrong. I love our town -- it's a great place to meet new friends, chat, play, and learn. But what is Whyville turning into? It doesn't deserve this! I saw SkUmBaG68's article in the Times recently, given the subtitle "SkUmBag68 triumphs". I was disgusted. What kind of weakness is that? He should not be allowed to triumph. Citizens, don't be foolish and greedy -- unite against crime! People shouldn't be able to laugh at the expense of others, like that article did. He enjoyed it, he ought to pay. Make him.

I know it's hard to resist it when you're lonely and somebody asks you out -- for a price. Or when you're feeling poor and someone wants to raise your salary. I should know, it happened to me. But PLEASE, do be sensible and keep it to yourself, Because it'll all end in tears.

I've spoken with all sorts of Whyvillians who had been driven to the edge but resisted, as they knew the risks. However nice a person may seem, or however much money you're offered, nine times out of ten things will go horribly wrong and leave you glum, depressed and poor. Not nice.

So this is what I have to say to you, citizens: Stand up to crime! It's stupid, sadistic fun for stupid people, so don't let crime pay. Don't let idiots like SkUmBag ruin our town. Stand up. Be heard. Make a difference.

Please, don't live up to his description of us all being "dumb and greedy". We know we're not. We can't fight crime alone, so let's do it together and rid our community of "skumbags". Bore them away by never, but never, giving them our passes to trash our accounts.

Now, let's get this show on the road!

This is Ybird, signing off.
