Ah, life. Where would we be without it? The answer should be quite obvious. If not, let me answer it for you: no where. We would be non-existent; there would be no animals, no plants. Trying to think about no life existing whatsoever can be tough . . . imagine a world with nothing. Scratch that - imagine no world.

However, that's beside the point. I'm not writing this to contemplate the meaning of life, or something along those lines. But, rather, how precious it really is. With the way so many people treat it, an onlooker might think us Earthlings have little value of our lives. Is it true? Only you can answer that question.

I'm not writing this to tell you to live your life to the fullest, either. I do think that you should be taking advantage of each moment that you are blessed with - but what you do as a whole is more important. What are you doing with your life? Are you using it for good, or are you simply living for yourself?

I don't really want to, but if I'm going to write about the value of life, I have to touch upon the subject of murder. People are murdered every single day. Sometimes, it's at random, other times, there's a reason. None of it can be justified though. How someone is able to take the precious life of another, I don't know. Revenge, jealousy, greed . . . any number of reasons could be the fuel for the killer.

Whatever the reason, they take it on themselves to end the life of another; to viciously rip their lives from them. Now, depending on what you believe, you make think this person to simply stop living. Or maybe that their soul is to live on somewhere else. Whatever your belief, this person was still robbed from their life. Their plans, their family, their future . . . all of it was taken in an instant.

If everyone on our humble planet were to stop and take a whole new look on the value of life, our world would be a much different place. I'm sure none of you want to die, but do we value life as much as we should?

I think that if we all saw life as priceless, so many things would change for us. We wouldn't talk down to anyone, we would care more about what we put in our bodies, we would reach out to people. We would live life like it should be lived.

We wouldn't worry about our school/friend drama. We would put our lives to better use. So, I ask you this one question.

Do you see life as priceless?

'Til next time,
PopofTart
