Raindrops dissolve on our tongues
as we twirl in a misty atmosphere
creating a tornado of childhood memories

Why did they have to evaporate?

Soaring towards the moon
we swing back and forth
ready to take off

Why couldn't we have stayed?

Backyards transformed
Into whole new worlds
Only for our eyes

Why can't I see as I did before?

Because I've grown, as have you.

Though each wonderful moment
which now stays a memory
Only leaves room for those yet to come.
