I know what you say about me behind my back. I'm not completely oblivious. I see the way you look at me. With disgust. Or is that jealousy? I'm the geek, the nerd, the teacher's pet, or whatever other stereotypes you people can come up with. I have all A's.

I'm in band. And apparently, that's frowned upon.

I have my friends that I love. I don't need your approval. They like me for who I am. They don't need me to act 'cool'. They don't require me to give up what's important to me to hang out with them. Some of them even are in the same situation as me. And you whisper about them too.

You keep getting your C's and D's. I'll keep getting my A's. You keep getting detention. I'll keep playing my french horn. You keep calling me names. I'll keep ignoring you. You keep wearing your brand names. I'll keep wearing my science fair T-shirt.

When I become rich, and you're working at McDonalds, I'll remember you.

You and your clique are the reason I've learned to be myself, and do what I want to do. You've taught me not to listen to what other people think about me.

Thank you for that.

Author's Note: Please, if you are in the same situation as me, don't give up! People will be rude to you, and label you as the nerd. It doesn't matter! And if you happen to be someone giving people labels, stop. Just stop. Don't judge people before you even know them.
