One of my favorite things about Whyville is the way you can design an avatar in nearly any way you'd like. I've always been "proud" of the ways I've designed my looks on here, and I've never really given my past avatars any thought. In the last few days, I've been looking through all the pictures I've had on my computer from the last several years, and I've come across some pretty horrific past avatars of mine. It's been fun looking at pictures and mind-opening at the same time. Though of course Whyville looks mean nothing when it comes to the worth of a person, I have fun looking at avatars and seeing what people are doing with their face parts. I'm guilty of thinking some people have newbish looks, and it wasn't until recently I've realized how big of a newbie I've been for quite a long time in the looks department.

I've unearthed some pretty embarrassing pictures of myself through the years, and have had fun reminiscing with my past Whyville years.

2007

Oh, the good old days. I miss the times when Mickey/Minnie Mouse ears were considered fashionable and you weren't cool unless you had the double arms thing going on. I can't tell what is best about this look - the fact that my eyes were on my lower cheeks, or that I'm literally holding my lips in my hands. Either way, I've had fun reminiscing of my early Whyville days through this picture.

2008

After one year of being active on Whyville, I was for SURE an oldbie. I started pestering the Sun Roofers, and sported some oldbie parts such as a peace/rock hand, long shirt, and layered melsey6 hair. I started showing a bit of a rebel side sporting an always attractive anti-Hollister sign, darker makeup, and a pierced mouth. Now, I have so many issues with this look and the fact half of my face isn't even on my head, but it was still a look I always thought I liked until recently.

2009

In 2009, I didn't show much originality or creativity in my avatar. I stuck with in-stock Melsey6 hairs, and popular shirts/tank tops. This picture was taken at Christmas time, so if you pardon the obnoxious Christmas lights everywhere, my normal 2009 look is hiding somewhere in the picture.

2010

By now, I was getting better at having more original looks. I still had popular eyes, lips, and back hairs, but I tried dressing my look up more with ears and an uncommon dress. I was beginning to think about running for senator, so my looks started having signs with my name and username on them to try to promote my campaign. (I didn't know the race would actually be post-poned till June.) By now I was sticking with mostly the same face parts simply because I was tired of searching Akbar's shelves week after week for new things to wear. I'm still the same way; I like the main face parts I wear, and mostly just change my shirts.

It's been fun looking at my avatars through the years. Whyville has been an enjoyable part of my growing up so far, and I love remembering the people and things I've done relating to this site through my past looks. Though most of my avatars have been pretty . . . interesting, they're fun to look at and make fun of. I encourage you to see if you can find pictures or past things you have relating to Whyville. They're fun to look at, and can help remind you of the good ole' days.
