Author's Note: The object of this article is not to show what you should be or shouldn't be buying this school year. Most of the fashion designers mentioned are very high-end and expensive, and it is not in your best interest to seek after their clothing unless you are in a good financial position. I was just curious as to what I may be seeing in stores that are more "kid friendly".

Summer seems to be nearing an end as each day passes by, and I can't help but think about the new school year, and the fact that I'll be needing some new clothes. I'm not by any means a fashionista, but I enjoy looking at magazines such as Teen Vogue to see what kind of styles are becoming popular. I've only glanced through some of the latest issues of this magazine, but I've noticed something really strange: the styles seem to be getting weirder and weirder as the months go by. Some of the more popular fashion designers are coming out with brand new clothing pieces that are a bit "out of this world.?"After googling some of the new summer styles, I was surprised by what I saw.

One of the fashion designers I've been following in magazines since I was rather young is Marc by Marc Jacobs. The work that this designer comes out with is very unique and always has stood out to me. Lately, his work has not only kept up its usual quirkiness, but has had more repetitiveness. Long skirts and bright and neutral color combinations have started becoming popular. Below are a few of his outfits that are starting to come out.

Another fashion company that has not only been popular for the handbags but also their clothing, is Prada. Bright colors and stripes seem to be popular with their latest clothing pieces. Mix-matched and clashing colors have also been common in the newest Prada fashions.

The first two designers have started to put out more flowing and loose clothing, but the brand Gucci has kept with their usual tight fitting clothing with their summer 2011 line. Though the colors are much more subdued, they still have vivid hues.

The last fashion designer I researched was Versace. Their clothing seemed to be like Gucci's; it was more tight fitting and was more about style versus color. Versace seemed to like putting vertical stripes in their pieces, which in legend lengthens the abdominal area. High-waist skirts also seemed to be a trend in Versace's summer fashion pieces.

Like I mentioned before, I did not write the article to suggest you buy these clothing pieces. Realistically, they are very expensive and aren't easily found unless you are near a big city. The reason I wrote this was to show what may be popular this school year when you are going clothes shopping. I know many stores in my local malls have "copy-cat" designers who base their clothing lines off more popular ones like those previously mentioned. Who knows - you might be seeing some of these fashions in the store windows nearest you!
