You call me ugly
I feel stupid
When you say that

You knock my books
On the floor
I fight back tears
When you do that

You act like you're
The queen of
The entire world
Yet the world
Barely knows you yet

You make me insecure
But even I know
That you feel bad
About yourself

I come home
And cry
You go home
And pretend
That everything is fine

But even as you
Keep this up
This tough girl act
It will have to end

I know I'm not you
I'm not the daughter
Of the rich
And famous senator

But I know I'm beautiful
Despite my flaws
I'm smart
Despite my struggles

I have friends
Even if they
Aren't around much

I have people who care
And want me to do well
And I WON'T let you
Keep me from going somewhere
I WONT let you knock me down

But I'll pick you up
And take you with me
And if you let me
I'll be your friend
Because you're beautiful
Even if it's hiding somewhere
