Have you ever seen that really old guy walking down the street with four million piercings on his face? Or that high school girl with the shiny, red nose stud? Lately, I've been thinking a lot about piercings - how some can seriously mess up your face with scarring, and others are just so adorable you want to rip it right out of the other person. So I hit the BBS and South Beach to see what others thought of them too!

sqeakers1: What do you think of piercings?

maximumH2: I think that piercings are fun to pick out but not as much fun to get.
PAINTING: Depends on where it's pierced really. Lip rings and eyebrow piercings . . . yuck.
galaxy7: I, personally, don't like them. I mean, I don't mind them. Just don't like 'em.
xZillyx: I think piercings aren't that bad like some people think. It's really just like accessories for your body.
rose6478: I think they're ok, but I would never do them since I have no interest for them so much.

sqeakers1: Do you have any? If so, what?

maximumH2: I do have some piercings, but they are my ears.
PAINTING: Yep. Three ear piercings and I'm good.
galaxy7: Nope.
xZillyx: Yes, but it's just my ears that are pierced.
rose6478: I do not have any. Only piercings I have is for my ears.

sqeakers1: When do you think is 'too young' to get them?

maximumH2: When you are a few months old.
PAINTING: Eh . . . Again really depends on what you're asking for. I got two of my ear piercings when I was a baby. I'll say that if you're looking to get any piercings besides those I'd wait until you can be completely sure you want to.
galaxy7: Probably 13 and under. That would seem a bit . . . odd.
xZillyx: Well I don't think that you have to be old to get piercings. (I got mine when I was 2) As long as the child's parents are okay with it, it's fine.
rose6478: Ages 13 - 14 I think are too young for body piercings.

sqeakers1: When do you think is 'too old' to get one?

maximumH2: When you are in your 60's.
PAINTING: I find this question funny but I'd say any age over mid-late 20's.
galaxy7: 25.
xZillyx: I don't think you can be too old for piercings, I mean, it is your body now.
rose6478: When your 22+ I think is weird to get them.

sqeakers1: Would you ever one on your face?

maximumH2: Not on my face, unless your ears would count as your face.
PAINTING: Yes. I think nose piercings that are small look good and not too over the top. I'm just not sure if I'd want to keep it yet.
galaxy7: Heh, probably not.
rose6478: No, I wouldn't. I did have an interest in nose piercings but now, nope.

sqeakers1: Do you think piercings are 'wrong'?

maximumH2: Piercings are wrong when you decide to get one on most of your body parts.
PAINTING: Not really . . .
galaxy7: Well, I can't see anything wrong ABOUT them, but I certainly don't suggest them.
rose6478: Well everyone has reason to get them. I'll admit, I'm not a big fan of them, but they're not wrong. You shouldn't get tons. I don't wanna see what ends up to someone who's done that . . .

sqeakers1: How do you think piercings can affect a person's reputation when they are younger?

maximumH2: A piercing can affect your reputation because if you had a piercing on your eyebrow, nose, mouth, and etc., they could think you are not like you say you are.
PAINTING: I don't think I could take someone with a hundred (exaggeration) piercings seriously.
galaxy7: Well, I think that things like getting tattoos or piercings at an early age can really affect you're future. I mean, who'll take you seriously with tattoos and piercings at 20?
rose6478: People might be more frightened of them or wouldn't want to be seen with someone who has tons of them. If you have 1 or maybe 2, I guess that's ok, but if you have more than that . . . bye bye reputation.

sqeakers1: Imagine a man in his thirties with multiple eyebrow piercings. How do you think that could affect his career, if at all?

maximumH2: Um, I don't know that answer.
PAINTING: I don't think a boss would hire somebody like that if it's an important job like a doctor or a lawyer, but you never know!
galaxy7: Like I said above, no one would really take him seriously. He'd be thought of as a joke.
rose6478: That could affect anywhere he applies to. Because, they might think you won't take the job seriously, since you haven't taken them off. But, some people are actually nice enough to LOOK at the application form.

sqeakers1: How many piercings are 'too many'?

maximumH2: To me, over 6 is waaaay too many!
PAINTING: I personally don't care for anything other than ear/nose piercings . . . I'd say if you have more than 5 it's a BIIIT too much.
galaxy7: It depends on where the piercings are. Probably 6 and up.
rose6478: Over 4+ I'd say is TOO MUCH.

sqeakers1: Any other thoughts?

maximumH2: No.
PAINTING: Don't go through the pain unless you're sure you want it and you'll want to keep it.
galaxy7: Nope. Thanks for interviewing me.
rose6478: Not really, just be careful if you're one who has or is going to get them.

Whether or not you like them, it's all just a matter of opinion. Frankly, I think some of them are cute, but others - bleh. Thanks for reading!
