You can talk, you can walk
You can leave me behind
You can jump, you can hop
But I always find that . . .
I can't walk to you when I see you
I can't talk to you 'cause I'm beneath you
I can't jump 'til you explain how high
And I can't hop until you tell me why

If you go somewhere without me
And forget to invite me there
If you run away from home and
Let people watch and stare
I'll let you move to different cities
Different people have different pities
I can't tell you not to leave
I wish I could, 'cause you're my star
But wherever you go
Just don't go far
And wherever you run
Please don't run hard

It's never enough, the animosity
You keep going back anyway
The school don't want you, cops already hunt you
But there's nothing anyone can say
I'm worried, I'm sad
Can't come with you this time
I'm anxious and mad
Follow in my line . . .

It's never easy
My words aren't pleasing
People don't stop teasing
Outcasts
Stop pausing and freezing
Stop gasping and wheezing
It indicates defeat
Because you are dreaming
Let's say you are beaming
End dream, you wake, you're heaving

That's now where you are
Now you're up to par
You're stuck in a jar
Stuck living in war
So wherever you go
Just don't go far
And wherever you run
Please don't run hard
