Whyville Guide, Part 2: Places

Guest Writer

Hi Citizens and Times Editor!!!

Well, this is the second part of the Guide for Newbies, and as promised... Places!!! I will arrange them starting from the most popular places, going down to the least popular.

Right, first: the Pool Party, or Doctor Leila's Patio!

Some people say it's the tops. Others say it's always too busy -- there should be a limit on how many people should be allowed in. And yet others say that is mostly for 'Oldbies' or 'Middlebies'. This is NOT true!!! On the contrary, it is one of the best places for everyone! Always being stuffed with 'Oldbies' hanging out with their friends, it is an excellent place for getting clams or face parts that they don't need! Of course, I'm not saying Go into the Pool Party and beg for your life, but there are large numbers of kind people that have loads of unwanted face parts!!!

Next: Playground!

This is mostly used at night (if you're in America), and has mostly the same comments as the Pool Party, except it is slightly smaller and is close to lots of places! Plus, it is often quiet during the day -- good for sorting things out or having quiet talks that you don't need to whisper.

Ok, now the Sportsplatz!

The Sportsplatz has loads of links: to the Playground, the Ice Rink in winter, and all kinds of other things. It makes a good meeting-ground, as if it is too busy you can just pop into one of the nearby places, which are generally empty.

All the other chat rooms are generally empty, but there are three more important locations I want to mention:

Akbar's!

Although you can't chat in here, it is the Mall and you can find everything from tiny dot eyes to huge heads, eyes, nose, mouth, hair and ears all joined together to make one ready-made head! Also, around events such as Christmas and Halloween you can find cute costumes such as pumpkin heads and Santa hats!

Haunted House:

This is open around Halloween. I have never been in there, although I have been around Whyville long enough to know how to get there and could have done so if I had not forgotten. :( I will not tell you how to get in, as that will be included in a future Guide section (and changes from year to year), but I will tell you that it is only open right around the Halloween week.

And finally, Grandma's!

Not many people go there to chat, making it an ideal place to do exactly this if you don't mind hearing Grandma ushering you in. Also, there is a Charity Bin and if you go in you can find face parts, bricks and furniture.

Ok, that pretty much wraps up the most important chat rooms and shops!

Next week: Tips and Tricks!
