Hello all, my name is Wren and I've always wondered what other people want to be when they are older. Finally I'm here to find out. I've interviewed a couple Whyvillians, and I hope you enjoy their answers!

Rockren: Since you were a little kid, what has been your dream to be when you grow up, and why?

Xoxkitkat: Silly and impractical as it may seem, I've always wanted to be an entertainer. Acting, dancing, playing various instruments, everything (excluding singing, I can't sing worth a dime ha-ha). I've also considered directing and editing. I'm not sure why, but actual practical work has never really appealed to me, whenever someone asked me what I ACTUALLY wanted to be, I could never come up with an answer that included a stable job.
Myfirekid: An artist, because I love drawing. It would be fun to buy a pack of art cards and see my picture, and my name.
Xxrawrx3: An Author. I always felt like I was really good at English which I am. And I just love to write.
Cohenlm: I really do not have one that has continued with me, but I guess overall it would be to become successful enough that my life and story would be passed down.

Rockren: Do you think that dream will ever come true and what do you think your chances are of it happening?

Xoxkitkat: Well, I can definitely make SOME kind of career in dance if I really wanted to in either teaching or proceeding ahead and joining our ballet company. But, I really want to try to get into acting, and I think I could make enough to get by if I worked hard enough, not talking fame and fortune or anything.
Xxrawrx3: I think if I keep my head held high and focus on what I want, not what others want, it will happen. I could even start small . . . The chances? Well . . . probably 6/10.
MyfirekidI: I think it will come true. Being an artist sounds so fun cause I love drawing!
Cohenlm: I believe all things are possible if you keep positive.

Rockren: Have you ever told anybody about your dream to become something, if so how did they respond?

Xoxkitkat: Um, not entirely. I've spilled some parts of my plan though.
Myfirekid: Yeah, they said if I practice or draw everyday I could become an artist. They said it was great I even wanted to be an artist.
Xxrawrx3: I have told somebody about it . . . They said maybe journalism. I said author. And they were quite surprised. Not many people in my family are as smart and advanced in English.
Cohenlm: Well, yes. I can't really remember since I have probably a million dreams I blab about to people.

Rockren: Have you been trying hard for this dream to come true, or is it just something that only time itself will tell?

Xoxkitkat: I've been working extremely hard to reach this. I've been dancing ever since I was, I think, 4 years old. I've also taken lessons in piano, guitar, and flute, and I've been auditioning for every play and musical I can find, as well as taking 6 years of classes in drama, improve, cold reading, etc.
Myfirekid: It'll take time. I still need to practice a lot more and I'm still too young.
Xxrawrx3: I do try hard in school. But I also think time will tell me when to try my hardest.
Cohenlm: For my "successful life" dream, it's kind of something only time will tell.

Rockren: What will you do if your dream comes true?

Xoxkitkat: Well, I guess I'll live it up!
Myfirekid: Draw everyday! I hope one day I'll see my paintings/drawings someday somewhere!
Xxrawrx3: I'd feel like I had accomplished something. Dream number 1, check! If I got money, my parents would get half, and new house.
Cohenlm: If my dream comes true, I will take the chance to educate others on achieving their goals.

I'd like to give a special thanks to everyone who participated in my first ever Whyville interview.

Editor's Note: Thanks for submitting this article Rockren. It is so important to have dreams and aspirations. If you believe in yourself, and work hard, anything is possible. It is also important to realize that dreams change, and your life may not always turn out as expected. But that's okay! As long as you know you are happy and fulfilled, that's what matters the most. And, never grow up!
