March 5th, 2012, a viral video came out. You might have seen it, or heard of it. It's KONY 2012. Within 3 days, it got over 39 MILLION views! I want to explain that video, and explain what is happening in Uganda.
Joseph Kony is the number 1 person on the World's Wanted List . He's a horrible criminal who ambushes kids, making them join the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army). The kids are forced to mutilate people's faces, shoot their parents, and kill. He makes kids fight as soldiers, basically.
Now, on March 5th, 2012, Invisible Children Inc. posted up a video called KONY 2012. It was created to create pressure on the government to capture Kony, and force pressure on Kony himself. They want to stop him, because he has done too many war crimes. He has done too much cruelty, he has done TOO MUCH! Unfortunately, Kony is staying 'invisible'. They do not know where he is, and when they do find out, he disappears again.
The United States us looking for Kony. They have launched a mission last year of 2011, but with no success. They came to find out that the LRA army may have kicked more than 400 THOUSAND people out of their homes!
The point of KONY 2012 is to "Make Kony Famous". If he gets famous, the United States will be encouraged to go after Joseph Kony once more. The Invisible Children Inc. has planned to Make Kony Famous on April 20th. They encourage people to put up posters, buy Action Packs from the InvisibleChildren.com website, and Make Kony Famous!
Finally, I know there may be a controversy over this. I just report what went on recently as Current Event. I just wanted to inform people of what's going on out there. Thank you.
