Give Your Teachers More Credit

Once again, I'm back trying to get published. =P I love to write, but that's not the point of this article. Think of everything you know, everything you can do. I bet you know a lot of these things because you learned it in school; am I right? Of course! I know, I know, a lot of people dread school, but think about everything that you have learned!

Teachers really don't get the credit they should get. One day, I was sitting in my science class listening to our student teacher explain this really cool native species project. Yes, I admit it sounded like hard work, but I can't think of a better way to teach us about native species. Anyway, my friend was sitting next to me and I could tell she was hating this student teacher (this was our student teacher's first week in our class). After class everyone seemed to be saying bad things about our student teacher.

I got really mad, because if you think about it, this was one of the best ways to learn about native species. You see, the project was to make this poster and give a quick presentation about the basics of it. Now, don't you think that is better than sitting all day long, taking notes on all these species and then having to take a test? I think you would agree that this was much better. All you had to do was learn about one species, present the information, and then listen to all the other presentations. How easy is that?

Well, I guess some people just don't get it. If you think of it, teachers not only teach you facts, but important lessons you will use through your whole life. Think back to kindergarten. Back then, all you had to do was to sit down and listen to the teacher read, right? Wrong! You were learning how to share and get along with other kids. As you grew up, you had to use these skills and it helped that you learned it while you were a child

Think about it! These teachers are dedicating their work and time to you! Don't you feel special? They have given up their life to teach you those helpful hints in math or the meaning of that hard word in your book but at the same time they were teaching you cooperation and improving all your skills.

Give the teacher a break, will you? They aren't trying to torture you, they just have to teach the things that the curriculum says. They are trying their hardest to make it fun!

This doesn't only go for teachers though. We all love Whyville but think of the people that are working to keeping it running, and adding new ideas and features! They are constantly listening to our complaints and trying to please us. They give up their time to make our community better. Everywhere I look, there is always some sort of complaint that people have. It's always "make more plots" or "get rid of Why-Passes" or "make more games!" They have even worked without pay for a while to keep Whyville going! All those faithful workers are doing this for us, for us to learn while having fun. I'm sure that you have more friends and more knowledge because of Whyville, so I think we need to take time to thank them for their hard work and devotion! Thank you City Hall and everyone else who makes this community what it is!

So, in conclusion, I want everyone to put themselves in the shoes of Whyville workers or teachers. Sooner or later, you'll realize what a big help they have been and how hard they have worked for you.

I have to run, I hear my mom calling!

Ciao all and remember to think of others!
ChinaDawl signing out... beeep!
