With repentant eyes, she looks about
Opened lips, yet nothing comes out
The audience stares with mournful sorrow
A girl who's death might come tomorrow
Yet calm and composed the people remain
Quizzically observing the girl in pain
With repentant eyes, she looks about
Opened lips, yet nothing comes out
"Can she feel? Is she human too?"
"Why yes, she's just like me and you"
The people around begin to fight
As the main point shrivels out of sight
With repentant eyes she looks about
Opened lips, yet nothing comes out
Most leave, for they refuse to wait
"Let her end be determined by fate"
But deep in the crowd, almost a mile
She spots that needed encouraging smile
With faithful eyes, she looks about
And from her lips escapes a shout
