Summer is just around the bend for some of us, and some people are already basking in the sun. If you're like me though, you're summers mainly consist of waking up at noon and doing nothing at all except watching reruns of last seasons shows. You may be wondering what you can do to get yourself out of your junk food lazy days. Here are some ideas that you can accomplish over this coming summer.

1. One thing I've vowed to do this summer is to hang out with my friends more. I'm sort of a homebody so it is going to get difficult. I decided to do simple things like bike with my friends or grab a film. The simple things can be the most memorable.

2. Grow something. Get a garden going. I'm planting a row of vegetables this summer. It is a good way to keep yourself busy this summer. You can work for a cause through the course of the summer, and you can have a great meal at the end. I plan on doing this activity with one of my friends.

3. Go on a scavenger hunt. I know what you're thinking. Scavenger hunts are for little kids, but they can be really entertaining when you have funny stuff to look for. One thing on our list is a bald man. Another could be for example, 7 pennies. Everybody finds pennies from time to time, but we want to see how hard it is to find some when you're actually looking for them.

4. Learn a new skill. I personally like to try new things all the time. This summer I decided to take up golf. Whatever you try to do is fine. It could be something as big as deciding to try a new sport, or it could be something little like trying to read more often.

5. Finally, we are going to have a party with all our friends. Not a roaring call the cops party, but a sleep in tents party. One where you can make the memories of summer last. It may include water fights, a block wide capture the flag game, or swapping some secrets over truth and dare. The point is to make some new friends and get to know your friends more.

I hope some of these tips help you get out of the summer blues. Also, I hope you have a memorable summer. Don't be afraid to try new things. Whatever you do I bet it will be a blast. Have fun!
