PANDEMIC
Tiny crabs wriggle
Across the sandy surface
Reaching the shore
That slaps against the sand
Making it soft and squishy

The tide rolls out and in
At a steady pace like
A person running.
People laugh and swim
Children fill their pails happily

Squirming lug worms
Burrow underneath the
Dry sand
As the sun sets
Slowly
Until
There
Is
Nothing
But the sand and the tide that
Goes in and out like
A person running.
