Time is flying by me so fast, |
This fall, my most important year embarks.
I reflect on how I've grown since the past,
And remember all the irremovable marks.
My senior year is coming on a fast track,
And I find myself scrambling to prepare.
This last term, I have no time to slack;
And if I do, it'll lead me to despair.
Shopping for notebooks, pencils and paper...
I think of the heavy burden I'll carry for this last year,
But I know for my future, I am the only shaper.
Thinking that it's almost all over, brings a few tears.
I'm growing up, into that adult I wanted so badly to be,
But I'm realizing it's not going to be as fun as I hoped.
I've learned that nothing in live is free,
People living in poverty, somehow having coped.
I'm scared for the future, I'll admit;
I don't feel like I'm as ready as I thought.
I've got a silver tongue and a quick wit,
But finding that it doesn't matter so much, makes me distraught.
I'm gonna take life by the horns, and let it lead me;
And hope that I go on a path to success.
I know I'll be everything I've wanted to be,
But I suppose this is me just rambling, and I digress.
