I always knew that words could hurt
But I see now that silence can too
If I could open my mouth to speak
And I wish I could so you knew.
All these emotions bottled up inside
These thoughts that drive me insane
For some reason I can't come out and share
These feelings, so they just cause pain.
I'm driving all who care away
Isolating myself from those dear to my heart
If I could find the strength to tell the truth
I would, but instead, I'm letting my relationships fall apart.
For the one thing that I fear the most
Is to say how I really feel
For I believe if I tell the truth
You won't care and turn on your heel.
You may just see my silence
But inside I'm screaming for help
I'm bursting at the seams with secrets
This burden is the worst I've ever felt.

I want to open-up to someone willing to listen
I could really use some guidance
But first I need to face my fear
And finally break the silence.
