We started a journey
To drive to the sunset
Like lovebird in movies
Romantic comedies

He told me he loved me,
So I buckled my seat belt
Gazed into his loving eyes
And told him how I felt

He said, "I'll keep you safe,
Let's go a different way.
If you follow my lead
We will not go astray."

His mind was like a map
That I just couldn't read
I wanted to drive slow
But he increased the speed

He kept pressuring me,
I didn't want to get dumped
I let him steer the wheel
Then we hit a speed-bump

We got off the right path
And we could not return
I was scared and lost
I didn't know where to turn

The journey had ended
But I kept pretending
That we were doing fine
I ignored the stop signs

It lasted for a while
I thought we'd go the mile
Took the wrong direction
But I was in denial

I hit the brakes on the car
And kicked him to the curb
I told him he went too far,
Told him he hit a nerve.

So with a lighter load
I got on the right road
I took the journey home
And returned to my abode
