Why, hello there, my good friend. Come quickly and close the door behind you. You have been brought here today because I have procured for you a mission of the utmost importance, which can be trusted in the hands of none but Whyville's best. If you feel you are up to the task, by all means, continue reading. However, there is no room here today for the cowardly, the weak, and the spineless. We fight here today in hopes of reminding the virulent and villainous vermin in this ville of whys that justice is not just a word, but a REALITY! So if you choose to stand with us today in our fight for truth and justice, then I commend you and wish you the best of luck in the journey ahead.

Allow me to brief you on the mission. We ask that at the end of the briefing, you tell us who you feel is responsible for the following criminal act.

On the afternoon of January 20th at precisely 2:52 P.M, "Honest" Hippo, bibi4evr, sent out a distress message on the Whyville forums warning of a pineapple thief running loose around the area. But is this hippo really honest? Or is this just a cover-up for her own dastardly deeds?! Bibi claims HopeLuvs was the mastermind behind this pineapple hack, but supposed victim, xoxkitkat, claims otherwise. She reported that HotTrent1 was responsible, but exhibited strange behavior in encouraging others to give out their pineapples as well, even though it's clearly against the rules.

What?

You say you didn't know pineapple trafficking was against the rules?!

Well, there's your proof (as if any sensible person would need it). I'm beginning to think we should've gotten somebody else for the job, but you'll just have to do for now . . .

Now let me direct your attention to our why-spy cam, where our team of highly trained ninjas are out undercover. See? They're disguised as the sand! Anyway, it's clear that the Whyville population is in hysterics, so it's crucial that we get this case solved immediately!

Switching locations on the surveillance camera, I will show you suspect #1, bibi4evr, also known as Honest Hippo. Footage clearly shows that our "hippo" is actually a cat!!! Pretty suspicious if you ask me . . . Not to mention her lurking around that abandoned hanger like that. The air about her just screams pineapple thief.

Now we move on to suspect #2, HotTrent1, who appears to be preparing himself to rob Bankinter out of millions! Now, one might say that he could just be legally drawing out millions of his own money, but does a poor, dirty looking death eater like that seem like he would have millions of clams?! I think not! Adding on that a bank robbery would easily correlate with the behavior of the pineapple hacker!

Taking a look at the playground, we find a mischievous looking HopeLuvs, whom witness, Honest Hippo/Cat Woman, claims is the true pineapple pilferer! She appears to be formulating a plan to kidnap these poor innocent little babies swinging and sliding in the park. Criminal behavior, no doubt! A prime suspect for the case at hand.

Down in the depths of north reef, we find our final suspect, xoxkitkat. Strangely enough, kitkat, who appeared to be female in her earlier testimony, seems to really be a mustachioed man!!! She - um, he is shown here to be exhibiting absolutely illegal activity! Purposely polluting our Whyville waters? Something a pineapple hacker would do, I suspect.

Before you make your decision, our why-spy cam did collect one other piece of evidence . . .

Here we have a picture of the Whyville control room, where a blurred figure clearly demonstrates intentions of pineapple hacking. Unfortunately the hacker seems to have gotten a hold of our ninjas' secret face filtering technology, so not much can be assessed from this sole photograph.

Well my friend, you have seen the evidence with your own eyes. Who do YOU think is the pineapple pilferer?

This story has four different endings, and the choice is yours.
