All over the world, women wear makeup. Most females spend hours just to "perfect" their look. They apply foundation, powder, eye shadow, mascara, etc. Makeup is becoming more and more important to many people each and every day. It is becoming a lifestyle. Today, I interview iRunaway, former Whyvillian Billy, GumDrope, Ninja0004, Xoxkitkat, and DahCutie.

HopeLuvs: What is your opinion of women wearing loads of makeup?

iRunaway: If they feel comfortable wearing it, it's their own choice. I wouldn't force them to take it off or bully them and say it's wrong, I'd just let them do their own thing.
Billy: I don't think girls need that much make up. They should just use enough and not overdo it.
GumDrope: Some can people work it and some can't. They can be beautiful without it.
Ninja0004: If they don't like natural, then that's their problem.
Xoxkitkat: Well, it depends on the situation, I guess. I've grown up performing in dance recitals, competitions, fairs, and some school plays. In a theatrical environment, not only do I think it's OK, it's necessary if you want to be seen from a distance. However, as long as it's kept tasteful, I'm also alright with heavier makeup for formal events like homecomings and Christmas parties. Although for everyday wear, I'd have to give a resounding no.
DahCutie: I feel that women who wear a large amount of makeup are alright, as long as it is applied properly. I prefer seeing women in less makeup, but as long as it is not clumpy or overwhelming, it's alright.

HopeLuvs: What do you think makeup does to an individual, besides changing her physical appearance?

iRunaway: I feel like it gives a person extra confidence. People feel a lot more comfortable to go out in public when they have makeup on.
Billy: It makes girls not look like themselves and covers up what they really look like.
GumDrope: It makes them have self-confidence. Even me, I wear makeup just to boost my self-confidence. It can take away the feeling of being ugly.
Ninja0004: They get more skin problems, and it irritates their skin sometimes.
Xoxkitkat: I think if you apply makeup with the mindset of highlighting your facial features, it can be a great confidence booster. However if you try to use makeup to hide behind, it can definitely tear away at your self-esteem.
DahCutie: I think that makeup is masking girls'/women's insecurities. Many women who wear makeup do it to hide their flaws and feel more confident while wearing makeup. Makeup has become a norm in society and many feel pressured to wear it to fit in and look as pretty as the rest. Makeup can be positive and negative for a person.

HopeLuvs: If you met a person who wants to wear makeup and change their appearance, what would your advice be?

iRunaway: I'd ask if I could do their makeup for them and see if they like it.
Billy: Don't use tons and don't overdo it. You still look fine without tons of makeup on.
GumDrope: Start out small. Do a few changes and gradually build up to a heavier-based look. If you move too fast, it can make people have different views about you, or label you harshly.
Ninja0004: Don't wear too much in the beginning. Start off small and gradually put more on if you want.
Xoxkitkat: Well, I don't think you should want to wear makeup to completely change your appearance, per se. If you want to start wearing makeup though and don't have any experience with it, I'd suggest starting small. You could try out a little mascara, some lip gloss, and concealer, if necessary.
DahCutie: Start out simple. Try by starting to wear mascara and some lip gloss. Once you feel more comfortable wearing makeup, you can expand from there. Only wear what make YOU feel comfortable and confident.

HopeLuvs: Many of you say a little bit of makeup is fine. How much is enough?

iRunaway: I think a full face of makeup is enough . . .
Billy: I don't know. Whatever is enough to some people?
GumDrope: Just a bit of eyeliner on top lids, a concealer base, and mascara. Also, chapstick. No one likes chapped lips.
Ninja0004: Anything that doesn't make them look like clowns.
Xoxkitkat: Like I mentioned earlier, I think it depends on the situation. Different occasions can call for different amounts of makeup, but if you're wearing bright red lipstick and false eyelashes to school every day, that's a problem. Haha.
DahCutie: I say enough is when your face is not orange, your eye shadow is not extreme, and you don't look like you're a clown.

Makeup is a way for women to feel confident. It becomes a "way of life" for some people. Just remember this: you're beautiful, no matter what.
