There I was, standing there, cold, scared. I could barely move a muscle. I looked around me but the wind and snow stung my eyes. From the little crack I had left my eye open I could see nothing but large snow drifts and trees in which they were comfortably nestled in between. I wished that was me right then. Cozy and snug. I wished I were home in my warm bed. Watching Netflix on my small television in my bedroom. But no, I was there and it was my own fault. "It's nobody's fault but your own," my mother would say if she were there right then. And if she had of been there and said that, she would have been right.

Earlier I was standing beside the school with some friends while we waited to be picked up by our parents. My mom was the first one there, but when she pulled up she saw that there were some boys in the group of friends I was standing in. I had never told my mom that some of my friends are boys, and I definitely never told her who I liked. But the guy I did like was standing right there in front of me. His name was Jaryn McGee. Right when I went to say my goodbyes, Jaryn asked me to go to the dance with him. Of course I said yes because I mean, what teenage girl would say no to the cutest guy in school?

I got in the car with my mom; the first thing I asked was if I could go to the dance. "Well, who are you going with?" she asked. "Just some friends, they're cool don't worry." I replied. I cracked a million of her excuses of why I shouldn't go. Finally we were home, when we got inside we started talking about it, then that went to arguing, then that went to screaming at each other. Finally I burst, "I HATE YOU, YOU ARE THE WORST MOM EVER!" I yelled as loud as I could . . . I stomped out of the house. I was running away. We fought all the time and I'd had enough of it. But unfortunately I had forgotten about the blizzard warnings . . .
