Here in this humble garden,
I hoped and longed and dreamed
with fertile soil and gentle care,
in soft sunlight and summer air.
This hallowed haven
held the heart of happiness, it seemed.

Time though went and changed it,
like some maniacal machine.
Winter came,
and with it,
sudden death by snowy flame.
Leaving me to mourn
this morbid, bitter scene.

"Replant!"
I'm sure they'll tell me,
"Refresh and start anew!"
They're senseless words
like yacking birds
repeat what they have heard.
But how can I move on
when winter's bound to come again?

Spring has once deceived me,
summer, too, had lied.
But next year, I'll protect myself
and keep it all inside.
