When I was younger, I was obsessed with the book series "The Land of Elyon" by Patrick Carman. I absolutely fell in love with the images on the cover. It was a very exaggerated realistic/ cartoon style. After spending hours admiring the covers of the books, I decided to try my hand at drawing my own picture to the same style. I'm very happy with the results. I used prisma-color pencil crayons for the girl, and indian ink for the background. Which is the reason the background looks sort of on the splotchy side, it reflected in the picture causing a gray splotch. I assure you that if you were to look at the picture in real life, the background would be a solid black. The first picture is the cover of the book that inspired me, the second image is my drawing.
