Tonight is the night the dead come walking.
Hungry for us, they all come stalking.
In this room I try to hide
While the dead, outside, all come alive.
There is no end to this horrible madness.
Reburying the dead is nothing but sadness.
The aroma of flesh makes them draw near
While all of us humans are shaking in fear.
Your life is now a twilight zone.
Make sure to never go places alone.
One good blow kills them dead,
But only if the blow goes straight to their head.
I really don?t think any of us ever expected it.
Just keep in mind that we are all infected . . .

Author's Note: This was an assignment in my English class to write a poem that had relevance to one of our favorite shows. It could be anything appropriate as long as it had to do with the show. I chose the hit show from AMC, "The Walking Dead", as my subject.
