I wait for the tomorrows,
and bury all my sorrows.
I cannot carry on
if I can feel.
I wait for their surgery,
and ignore those urging me.
I cannot be with them
if I'm different.

I'm almost there and making progress,
Don't tell them that they're lies.
They're fixing me and sparing me stress,
The pressure's part of life.

I wait for the acceptance,
and don't ask any questions.
I cannot follow through,
if I'm too sure.
I wait for their promises,
and don't check if they miss them.
I cannot learn to trust,
if I can feel.
