Hello everyone! This week I interviewed Hottrent1 on his story series "Military Son". He has just recently finished his 9th part of the story which brings him to the end of the series. He has received a lot of positive comments from Whyvillians who have read his story from the very beginning. I personally have been reading this story from the start because not only is it beautifully written but it's a true story and he has experienced it all. He tells the story of his dad having to leave for war which would be difficult and depressing for anyone. Here he is talking about this amazing touching story "Military Son".

Honeybbz9: Is it difficult writing about something so sad and true especially when you have experienced it?
Hottrent1: Yeah, it's pretty difficult at times. That's the main reason why I haven't even finished yet. I find myself sad when I write sometimes because I couldn't see him for a long time. I was worried if I would see him again or not. Those memories were quite depressing to me, and writing about them, for some reason, made me feel better.

Honeybbz9: How long have you been writing this story?
Hottrent1: I remember getting the news two Christmas Eves ago. I believe I started writing it a little after I left him on Spring Break, which was the last time I saw my father before he went overseas. So the first piece came out a little less than a year ago. Sometime in April was the time that the first part was released in the Times.

Honeybbz9: How does it feel getting all these positive comments on your story?
Hottrent1: It felt amazing getting all of the positive comments. It's my first story and it came from my own experiences. The comments made me feel better. It made me feel like I had done the story some good.

Honeybbz9: Is it your favorite story that you've written for the Times?
Hottrent1: I haven't written a lot of stories, but it is my favorite story that I've written so far.

It's been great reading this story. As mentioned before he has come to the end of the story. It can be seen that he has put a lot of effort into his writing and he has been very brave to be able to write about something so depressing. I have enjoyed reading his story and all his other writing because of the hard work he puts into his work. Thank you Hottrent1 for answering my questions and keep a look out for more interview questions in the future.
