During the summer of 2010 I got the chance to go to Florida, Alabama, and Georgia for my first and only time. I was so excited because I had never been to the beach before or on a vacation at that. My family isn't the type to travel around much so I went with my cousins. You could say I was pretty excited to get out of the state of Indiana for a while but we were going to be gone for a week and I had never been away from home for that long at a time.

I got pretty homesick but it was definitely worth it, although the 10 hour car ride wasn't too entertaining. While we were down there we got to do so many fun things including riding jet skis on the lake, watching fireworks on the 4th of July, meeting all of my cousin's family from down South, swimming, shopping, and my favorite part visiting the beach!

While we were at the beach we went out on the peer and I got to touch a baby shark that a fisherman had just caught, it was pretty cool! We also visited Alvin's Island and my sister and cousins got to hold a baby alligator, which I would have loved to do but I was busy looking around when they had the chance! The ride back was kind of horrible though because I was so ready to be back home and we got stuck in a ton of traffic! I would go back in a heartbeat if I could and I definitely wish my family traveled around because I loved the beach so much. It was just such a beautiful and peaceful place to be!

The beach that we traveled to was Panama City Beach, Florida.
