This is not an ordinary announcement . . . That's because it's "The Write For The Whyville Times" final showdown! Since the 9th of June, this contest has challenged people to write in various topics in the Whyville Times. Writers have dazzled us with articles about the people they respect, recounts of memorable holidays, acrostic poems and comedic tales. Unfortunately, like how every good thing comes to an end, this will be the contest's last round. Here is the final "Write For The Whyville Times" announcement.

Winners

A few weeks ago I announced that last round's topic was 'comedy'. Competitors were challenged to create a side-splitting comic and submit it into the Entertainment section of the Times. There was only one article submitted. Naturally, this article called "Of Donuts and Dragons" is the winner. This article was created by Hottrent1, PAINTING, Thimmin12 and Xoxkitkat. Well done, you guys! Of Donuts and Dragons truly had my seams bursting at my side!

Prize

Everyone who participates in this final topic will receive 10,000 clams. Previously on this contest the grand winner received 25, 000 clams for their excellent work. Now there's a twist . . . The winner of this final round will receive a huge sum of 50,000 clams. On top of that, the winner will be awarded with the snazzy Write For The Whyville Times trophy and the pride of having won the final round of the contest.

The Finale

The final topic of The Write For Whyville Times Contest is . . . stories! This will belong in the "Creative Writing" section of the Times. Apart from the entry having to be a story/prose piece, there are no rules! The great thing about this topic is that anyone can participate. If you want to enter but you're stuck for ideas y-mail me and I will rattle off some potential ideas to help get you started on your story.

Happy writing!
