PANDEMIC
Not broken, just bent
No elasticity
Just dents
And dark brown eyes that I don't even know

No frowns or wrinkled foreheads
No sad stories or tear sheds
No reason for unhappiness
No abuse or downward descent
Or deceased, except in the sense
That I'm staring at dark brown eyes I don't even know

And misfortune isn't present in my story
Nor is a reason to be upset
But a deep undying coldness offering a dangerous decent
And I want to accept
But I'm staring at my dark brown eyes
To which I promised I'd confess

And I cannot comprehend
How beautifully tragic this story has been
But the time has come for me to mend
And you have to let me go
So my story may begin
Because I want to stop the agony that strangles me
When I stare at my dark brown eyes
And all I see is sin
