PANDEMIC
Trudging down the vacant hallway
Heavy steps resounding against walls
Teeth clenched, sweaty palms, closed eyes
Every ounce of willpower trying not to cry
Whispers in ears and stomach of ice
It's only a matter of chance and dice
Doubt and fear are tangible
Poked around like an animal
Isolated until the tears appear
They arrive to criticize and jeer
Reigning down like arrows
Lions ready to pounce
She is victimized
She is terrorized
When will it end?
She needs to find a friend
Bawling in the corner
Someone sees a mourner
But a choice he must decide
To stand by her side
How many times do we only pass by?
Please be a shoulder when someone needs to cry
