Now, Whyville does have it's up and downs, crime and punishment, but let me tell you, NOTHING is weirder than the Why-Files.

I am Agent Etrnl *, investigating the strange and bazaar happenings. I work alone and seek clues to the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHEN, HOW, and expecailly WHY.

My first assignment happened when I couldn't see my face, let alone anyone else's.

A-#001 Seeing Through You

Date: Saturday, March 18, 2000
Where: Whyville Square

I doubt if anyone is at fault for this, but it is so strange that this happening happened right after the Face Factory opened up for business.

Clue #1 - The Face Factory opens for business at the time I could not see my face.

I was up until 1:30 P.M. Central finding out how this couldn't happen. I signed on again at 3:00 P.M. Central to find this message on the BBS:

This meant that I wasn't alone. Someone else had noticed, too. No one knows, until now, that I was a special agent for the Why-Files.

After recieving the message, I explored more place.

My house: Nothing. My face still does not show.
Whyville West: My face is not there. (Why do the call it west when it should be east? Oh, well, that's another story.)
Everywhere I checked seemed to be clueless. What could this be? A virus? A cracker code? A small mistake? Or someone's wrong doing? These questions ran through my head. Over and over, until I found another clue in the BBS:

KINKS! Why hadn't I thought of it all along?! The kinks had kept the faces from showing!

Well, that puts case A-#001 into the pile of solved Why-Files.
