The Fight for Survival

Bettyjoe
Times Writer

I was reading the Hot Topics section for this week, about saving the animals, and I think that a lot of you have got it wrong. (Times Editor, would you please put my side of the issue into the Times soon?)

I agree with the fact that killing something for pleasure is wrong. But a lot of you don't get the big picture! Ok, if you want to be a vegetarian, then by all means, go ahead. But if you don't want to be, don't let yourself be pressured to do so.

Now with the big story! Survival. How do we survive? We must eat the meat. I'm sorry, but eating a McDonald's(tm) hamburger is not bad for you, or anyone. We are not "hunting down viciously", or even taking too much. When we need to eat, we find a way to eat, and something to eat. Since forever, there has been a food chain. And we happen to be at the top.

Every animal has to find its own way to survive. So why can't we? I myself cannot become vegetarian for reasons such as iron and others. And it is something I can't get from a pill. So how do you think I feel when the only way I can survive is by eating meat, and you ridicule me for doing such?

If you choose to survive on meat, then do so. Cruelty to animals is hurting and hunting them for pleasure. Not surviving if you need it.
