Breath ragged, heartbeat unpredictable,
Mind a broken record, your view is now skeptical.
The moon guides you forward while the sun pushes you back.
Your world spun off its axis, but you tend to like it like that.
You can hear it; a symphony in your head of clanging, banging and shouting from within;
The lies you once relied on now cling to you like skin.
Life has offered you an elixir, one you must refuse.
Yes, it is possible you could die tonight, but to you what is that news?
You wish it to be over but you fear what they call "the end."
Though it's just a state of mind you'll never comprehend.
And now things fall of cliffs where they once glided through.
Your burden is a weight you can't afford to hold on to.
